TileBuddy App
The TileBuddy app is the scorecard for your own table. Four players, one phone passed around (or one scorekeeper) — TileBuddy tracks the money and the faan so nobody has to do mental math between hands.
The pieces
| Feature | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Score Tracker | The home screen: four player cards, seat winds, running balances, and dealer rotation. |
| Recording a Win | The step-by-step flow to log who won, how, and for how much. |
| AI Tile Scanner | Snap a photo of a hand and let AI read the tiles and suggest the faan. |
| Manual Tile Entry | Tap tiles in by hand when you'd rather not scan. |
| Faan Wiki | A searchable reference of Hong Kong Mahjong hands and what they score. |
| Meld Disambiguation | When a hand can be read more than one way, TileBuddy asks which you played. |
| Game Settings | Names, stakes, rules, faan tables, payment structure. |
| History & Recaps | Past games, final tallies, shareable recap images, and cloud sync. |
| Premium & Billing | Free vs premium, scan limits, and managing your subscription. |
How a game flows
- Set up — names, stakes, and rules in Settings.
- Play & record — after each hand, tap the winner and log it in the win flow. TileBuddy does the payout math and rotates the dealer.
- Review & share — at the end, see the final tally and share a recap.
Good to know
- Works offline. Only scanning and cloud sync need the internet.
- Your data is yours. Games are stored on your device. Sign in and they sync to the cloud; nothing is sold or shared.
- It scores HK Mahjong. Classic, New 6, and New 18 hand sets. See Settings for the differences.
