Seating and the Waitlist
The waitlist is the pool of checked-in players who aren't seated yet. It's kept in check-in order, so the person who arrived first is at the top. Your job as host is to move players from the waitlist into seats.
Two ways to seat players
You can seat players one at a time or all at once:
- Drag one player from the waitlist into an open seat. Best when you want to place specific people.
- Auto-assign to seat everyone at once. Best when you just want the room filled quickly.
How Auto-assign works
Auto-assign fills open seats for you while trying to keep the night pleasant:
- It keeps friend groups together where it can.
- It respects each table's skill restrictions.
- Anyone who doesn't fit stays on the waitlist for you to place by hand.
Auto-assign never overrides a skill restriction. If a player can't sit anywhere that fits, they simply wait.
Skill restrictions
You can limit a table to certain skill levels, so players end up with a good match. For example, you might set a table for:
- Beginner players who are new to the game.
- Intermediate players who know the flow.
- Advanced players, where an experienced player helps others.
A table with no restriction is open to anyone.
A learners' table plus a teaching table is a friendly way to welcome newcomers without slowing down your regulars.
After players are seated
Once seats are filled, the night runs from your table cards. To move players around during play, see Manual seat operations. To set up how players move between tables each round, see Table rotation.
